Outdoor Survival Podcast Episode 36

In this episode of Anthony’s Audio Journal I talk about how to take more notice of your surroundings while you’re on the trail and how it could keep you from getting lost.  I also discuss some interesting observations from Deep Survival, a book by Laurence Gonzales who discusses traits of survivors.

I also talk about some gear recommendations and feature some good music by Seabird, Clean Pete and Scratchy Summit from the Podsafe Music Network.

The Practical Backpacking Podcast ran an episode awhile back that featured an interview with Shana Tarter of the Wilderness Medicine Institute.   She gave great advice on handling common medical problems in the wild and  what makes a good back country first aid kit.

Anthony’s Audio Journal is an audio podcast about my adventures.  In each episode of the journal I feature unique music to open the show and give a brief description of the history and location of our adventure.  I give a play by play as I hike along the trail  and describe the conditions we encounter and my thoughts along the way.  In most episodes I interview people we meet along the way and record the sounds of nature using a stereo audio recorder.  In the latest adventures I brought along a small video recorder and a camera to document our travels.
