Eagle Rock

In this episode I take a solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail just outside of Warner Springs California to see Eagle Rock, a unique rock formation shaped amazingly like an eagle with its wings spread. Along the way I run into a flock of wild turkeys, a fox, two sets of mule deer, two young ladies out on a trail ride and an Austrailian Thru-Hiker heading all the way to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail

Lindsey heading up into the Whitewater Preserve

In this episode Lindsey and I explore the Whitewater Preserve located just a few miles from Palm Springs California. Gerry, Larry, Jill, Mike and C.K. tagged along as we hiked along the Whitewater River that flows year around from the higher San Bernardino Mountains. The Mission Creek Preserve is easily accessed off the highway from Joshua Tree and made for a perfect thru-hike from the Whitewater Preserve.

In this episode I relate the trails and tribulations as I delve into the world of Barefoot Running.  I discover  Barefoot or Minimalist Running after stumbling upon  the fascinating form of exercise while doing research for a new pair of running shoes. Follow along as I make the transition from being a Shod runner to wearing a pair of Vibram Five Finger KSO’s and eventually a pair of Bikilas.  I also put in a few miles attempting to try my luck at running barefoot.
