Episode 152 Hilton Lakes Part One

In this adventure Dave, Gerry and I embark on a four day adventure into the Hilton Lakes Basin where we set up a base camp at Hilton Lake #2 before exploring Davis Lake, a hidden waterfall and Lakes No. 3,4,5 6 and 7. Along the way we take in some amazing scenery and dodge 3 thunderstorms.

Glad to see you’re still posting these reports! Thank you for doing them. Regarding your failed Rae Lakes permit application: have you considered getting a walk up permit? I did it this way solo in early September 2017. I was first in line about 30 minutes before the Road’s End permit station opened on a Monday morning. It wasn’t a problem. I’m guessing that you and your 2 buddies would have success this way. Best of luck and please keep these podcasts coming. I’m hoping to do your Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne trip this September.
